2nd Annual Stewardship Breakfast: Building Strong Community Partnerships

For those who attended our 2nd Annual Stewardship Breakfast on June 21st, they heard from a number of exciting speakers about the critical importance of building strong partnerships between the public and private sectors and how those partnerships help organizations like the Elizabeth Peabody House.  Mayor Joseph Curtatone kicked off the event remembering his experience at the Peabody House and how Somerville has improved over the past decades.  Imari Paris Jeffries of Boston Rising highlighted how settlement houses, like the Peabody House, will be crucial to neighborhoods in Somerville.  And Shane Mulrooney of Dyer Brown wrapped up the morning by talking about why his company partners with the Peabody House.  Thank you to all who attended!

Thank You To Those Who Attended our Giving Tree Gala!

Thank you to all of our supporters, community partners, and corporate champions that came out to share in the achievements and impact of the Elizabeth Peabody House on Thursday, May 19!  We had over 150 individuals in attendance and with live performances from the Urban Warriors, Bulletproof Funk, a Live & Silent Auction, an awards ceremony, and delicious food from the Basil Tree, those who attended had a great time.  Please continue to stay in touch with us by following our facebook page or attending other events in the future!

Pizza Challenge: Huge Success!

April 2, 2011

The Peabody House recently held its First Annual Pizza Challenge on Saturday, April 2 with a great turnout!  The event attracted 71 attendees and raised approximately $1,116 in total, all of which will be allocated to its food pantry to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables for the Summer months. 

Of course being a challenge, the Victors who were voted as the best were:

• Leones- Best Pizzeria & Most Creative Pizza (Thai Chicken)

• Primas-Best Cheese

• Eat at Jumbos-Healthiest Option (Spinach, Tomato, Garlic)
